Jabiru is a town in
the Northern Territory of Australia. It was originally built in
1982 as a closed town to house the community living at Jabiru
East near the Ranger Uranium Mine eight kilometres away. Both
the mine and the town are completely surrounded by Kakadu National
Park. |

Aurora
Kakadu is situated near the entrance to Kakadu National Park,
in South Alligator - 44 km west of the town of Jabiru. Do not
drive right through to Jabiru when looking for property.
Aurora Kakadu is the perfect base to visit one of the world's finest wildlife reserves. Set amidst 10 hectares of lush bushland, Aurora Kakadu offers tropical gardens, manicured lawns and abundant relaxation areas. Aurora Kakadu provides guests with the opportunity to encounter close at hand some of the Territory's spectacular wildlife. Magpie geese, wallabies, corellas and goannas freely wander the landscaped gardens and pool area. Guests are encouraged to explore further the natural habitats of the animals and plants exhibited by experiencing the park and its surrounds. During your stay explore the park containing 50,000 years of the local Aboriginal people's heritage, discover the legacy of the Dreamtime and the ancient rock art galleries. Please Note: Due to the flooding of Kakadu National Park, the Arnhem Hwy from Pt Stuart Road to Kapalga turnoff is closed. This means that guests are unable to access our resort at South Alligator, directly from Darwin. If departing from Darwin guests will need to drive in the Pine Creek direction and onto the Kakadu Hwy. |
