Brisbane is the capital of and most populous city in the Australian state of Queensland, and the third most populous city in Australia with a metropolitan population of almost 2.5 million inhabitants. The Brisbane CBD stands on the original European settlement and is situated inside a bend of the Brisbane River, app. 15 kilometres from its mouth at Moreton Bay. Brisbane is a very popular destination for tourists, who visit for its many attractions, warm climate, for conventions and sporting events. The Gold Coast, Surfer’s Paradise, and the Sunshine Coast are app. 1-hours drive from Brisbane and very popular for family holidays.
